Definition

Ma:Mp expresses the ratio between active and passive human movement within M responses. It helps show whether imagined human activity tends to be represented as acting and intervening or as waiting, receiving, or being acted upon.

Interpretation

If Mp exceeds Ma, human ideation may more often represent passivity, waiting, or receptivity.
If Ma predominates, human ideation may lean more toward initiative, intervention, or directing action.
When the ratio is balanced, human representations are not strongly pulled toward one pole.
Its meaning becomes more useful when integrated with the quality of M.

Cautions

If the number of M responses is very low, the ratio loses stability.
Predominant Mp does not by itself imply fragility, and predominant Ma does not by itself imply positive adjustment.
The quality of ideation still has to be checked through M- and Mnone.
