Aliases
- FD
- form dimension
- introspection
Definition
FD shows a tendency to step back from experience and to observe the self.
In Self Perception, it is used as a clue to introspection and conscious self-observation.
Interpretation
- If
FD > 0, there is usually some degree of inward observation of personal functioning. - That observation can be adaptive, or it can take on criticism, guilt, or discouragement.
- If
FDappears together withSumVorMOR_self, introspection may feel heavier or more painful. - If
FDappears with a high egocentricity index, much attention may be fixed on the self.
Cautions
- A high
FDdoes not automatically equal good insight. FD = 0does not prove the total absence of introspection.- It should be distinguished from the determinant code
FDand from the content codeFd.
Cross References
FDshows the presence of self-observation, not its quality by itself.- It should be read together with
SumV,MOR_self, and3r+(2)/R.
