[Interpretation/Upper Section] Dd

[Interpretation/Upper Section] Dd

Aliases

  • Dd
  • unusual detail
  • rare detail responses

Definition

Dd is the frequency of responses given to unusual or infrequently used details. In interpretation it indicates how much attention shifts toward less shared or less obvious parts of the stimulus.

Interpretation

  • Some Dd may suggest exploratory breadth or sensitivity to less salient detail.
  • High Dd may accompany idiosyncratic focus, unconventional interest, or very peripheral scanning.
  • Very low Dd may reflect staying with more typical and expected units.

Cautions

  • High Dd does not automatically equal creativity.
  • If Dd rises with low P and high Xu%, the reading leans more toward unconventional perception.
  • If Dd rises with very positive Zd, overinspection may be more likely than creativity.
