Definition

Zf is the frequency of responses that receive a Z score. It shows how often the person attempts to organize relationships among parts of the stimulus field.

Interpretation

• Zf first reflects how often organizational effort appears.
• An adequate Zf is usually compatible with exploration that is neither overly shallow nor excessively tied up in the field.
• A high Zf may suggest a tendency to organize and check relations frequently.
• A low Zf may accompany simple responses or fewer efforts at structuring.

Cautions

• Zf should be reviewed together with ZSum and Zd.
• A high Zf does not by itself mean good efficiency.
• A low Zf does not automatically imply impairment; short protocols and defensiveness can also lower it.
