[Coding/Content] Ls

Aliases

  • Ls
  • landscape
  • scenery

Definition

Ls is coded when the main content is a landscape, geographic view, or broad natural scene.
The focus has to be on the scene or setting, not just on a single plant or object.

Conditions

  • Use it for mountains, coast, valley, horizon, riverbank, rocky landscape, or another response understood as a natural view.
  • It requires that the person see a scene or spatial expanse, not just an isolated botanical detail.
  • If the response describes a map or cartographic representation, first reconsider scoring-input/contents/Ge.
  • If the response points to general nature or natural environment rather than a bounded landscape, first reconsider scoring-input/contents/Na.

Cautions

  • Ls is not the same as scoring-input/contents/Ge, which is reserved for maps or cartographic reference.
  • If a broad natural setting is described with botanical elements, Na may take priority over Ls.
  • If the focus falls on a specific plant, branch, or botanical form, first reconsider scoring-input/contents/Bt.
