Definition

AdjD is the difference between EA and AdjEs. It works as a more stable estimate of control margin because it corrects part of the situational overload associated with m and Y.

Interpretation

• AdjD = 0 usually suggests approximate balance after the more reactive burden has been corrected.
• AdjD < 0 suggests a more persistent or less purely situational form of overload.
• If D looks clearly worse than AdjD, part of the current distress may be amplified by immediate situational pressure.
• AdjD is often more useful than D when estimating baseline vulnerability to stress.

Cautions

• AdjD should not be read as a fixed trait.
• A nonnegative AdjD does not rule out breakdown under strong external pressure.
• The gap between D and AdjD is clinically important because it helps separate current load from more sustained load.
