Definition

FQ- is assigned when the described object does not adequately fit the blot area and the response forces contours or creates features that are not really there. It is the poor or distorted form-fit category.

Conditions

The object is not seen quickly or easily.
The response depends on arbitrary contours or substantial distortion.
Table guidance or extrapolation does not support acceptable fit.
In doubtful off-table cases, the manual prefers - over overvaluing the fit.

Cautions

FQ- should not be assigned for mere unusualness. The core issue is poor fit.
If the response is unusual but still plausible and reasonably easy to see, use scoring-input/fq/u.
One or two isolated - responses do not settle interpretation by themselves; pattern and frequency still matter.
