X-%

Aliases

  • X-%
  • Distorted Form

Definition

X-% indicates the proportion of responses with clearly distorted form use. In mediation, it functions as a central sign of perceptual distance from shared reality.

Interpretation

  • If X-% rises, the frequency of perceptions that do not fit the blot well increases.
  • If Xu% is also high, there may be a mixture of tolerable oddness and genuine distortion.
  • If X-% is high together with WSum6 or PTI, clinical concern increases.

Cautions

  • X-% is not the same as Xu%; Xu% still reflects an uncommon but possible reading.
  • It should be reviewed together with total responses and the broader distribution of FQ-.
  • A high value is informative, but it does not by itself explain the source of distortion.
