Definition

DQ+ indicates how much integrated, sophisticated organization appears in processing. In interpretation, it is used as a sign of capacity to structure percepts in a complex and articulated way.

Interpretation

• If DQ+ is adequately present, there is usually better capacity to organize complex material in an integrated form.
• When DQ+ is sustained and DQv does not weigh too heavily, processing may look more elaborated and sophisticated.
• The value gains meaning when compared with Zd, PSV, and the general distribution of developmental quality.

Cautions

• A high DQ+ does not automatically mean excellent adaptation.
• If DQ+ is high but DQv is also high, organization may still be uneven.
• DQ+ should not be confused with v/+; they belong to the same coding family but serve different interpretive roles.
