[Interpretation/Processing] Zf
Aliases
- Zf
- processing Zf
- Z frequency
Definition
Zf indicates how often the person actively tries to scan and organize the field during processing.
In this section it is used as a frequency measure of organizational effort, not as a measure of efficiency by itself.
Interpretation
- If
Zfis high, there are usually more attempts to examine and organize the stimulus. - If
Zfis low, there may be less active exploration or less initiative to structure the field. - Its clinical meaning changes when read together with
Zd, because frequency and efficiency are not the same.
Cautions
- A high
Zfdoes not automatically mean good processing. - A low
Zfcan be expected if the protocol is short. - To interpret the value, the
W:D:Dddistribution should also be reviewed.
