Definition

Special Indices gathers composite constellations built from multiple protocol variables. Each index does not replace clinical interpretation; instead it works as an actuarial screen that helps decide which areas need priority review.

Interpretation

• PTI points to problems in thinking and mediation.
• DEPI organizes an alert around depressive features.
• CDI summarizes vulnerability in coping resources and interpersonal effectiveness.
• SCON is a high-stakes risk alert. HVI and OBS organize vigilance- and precision-related variable patterns, but their empirical support is weak or insufficient and they should remain low-confidence hypotheses.

Cautions

• No special index should be treated as an automatic diagnosis.
• Evidence strength differs by index; meeting an operational cutoff is not the same as establishing its proposed clinical meaning.
• Constellations can produce false positives or miss individual cases.
• It is always necessary to return to the base variables that feed the index.

• The special indices do not have interchangeable empirical support. PTI and S-CON are relatively well supported, DEPI and CDI have limited support, and support for HVI and OBS is weak or insufficient.
