Definition
Special Indices gathers composite constellations built from multiple protocol variables.
Each index does not replace clinical interpretation; instead it works as an actuarial screen that helps decide which areas need priority review.
Interpretation
PTIpoints to problems in thinking and mediation.DEPIorganizes an alert around depressive features.CDIsummarizes vulnerability in coping resources and interpersonal effectiveness.SCONis a high-stakes risk alert.HVIandOBSorganize vigilance- and precision-related variable patterns, but their empirical support is weak or insufficient and they should remain low-confidence hypotheses.
Cautions
- No special index should be treated as an automatic diagnosis.
- Evidence strength differs by index; meeting an operational cutoff is not the same as establishing its proposed clinical meaning.
- Constellations can produce false positives or miss individual cases.
- It is always necessary to return to the base variables that feed the index.
Cautions
- These indices are screening shortcuts, not substitutes for domain-based reading.
- They should be reconsidered in light of
Ideation,Affect,Interpersonal, andSelf Perception.

Evidence Strength
- Evidence tier:
mixed - The special indices do not have interchangeable empirical support. PTI and S-CON are relatively well supported, DEPI and CDI have limited support, and support for HVI and OBS is weak or insufficient.
- Use every index as a screening hypothesis and cross-check it against component variables, interview data, observed behavior, and history.
